PUBLIC NOTICES

LANDFILL AND COMPACTOR STATIONS WILL BE OPEN MEMORIAL DAY

Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin announces that the Parish Landfill located at 4597 Hwy. 1 North, as well as all garbage bin sites and compactor stations Parish-wide, will be
OPEN during their regular operating hours on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26.

For information about any of these sites, citizens may
contact the Solid Waste office at (318) 238-3704.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF EMMANUEL ROAD

Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin announces that the Emmanuel Road, immediately northwest of the Bayou Barbue Bridge, is temporarily closed to traffic due to high water resulting from last night's heavy rain event.

Traffic may detour around this site via State Routes LA-1 and LA-490.

For their safety, Nowlin cautions drivers to not attempt to travel through the flooded area.

For more information, citizens may contact
Mr. Nick Verret, Director of Public Works, at (318) 357-2200.

RE-OPENING OF A PORTION OF ALLEN-MARTHAVILLE ROAD

Parish President Rick Nowlin announces that the 1.5-mile section of the Allen-Marthaville Road between the Brandon Cotton Road and the Durr School Road has been re-opened to traffic.

This section of road was closed to traffic on December 19 due to recurring wet conditions, but Parish forces were able to make the necessary repairs this week to allow the road to be re-opened.

Mr. Nowlin and Parish staff thank the public for their patience during the time of the closure.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF OIL FIELD ROAD NEAR ASHLAND

Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin advises the public that the Oil Field Road near Ashland has been
temporarily closed to traffic from its junction with the Iron Springs Road to its junction with State Route LA-155, due to the road conditions.

Recent recurring rainfall, combined with repetitive vehicular traffic attempting to travel through this area, has damaged the road to the point that it is currently impossible for Parish forces to make the necessary repairs.

Parish Highway Department staff will continue to monitor the condition of this road and perform the necessary repairs for re-opening the road as soon as practical.

Questions may be directed to
Mr. Nick Verret, Director of Public Works, at (318) 357-2200.

CLOSURE OF KISATCHIE FALLS ROAD

Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin has announced that the
Kisatchie Falls Road has been closed to through traffic from its junction with State Route LA-118 to a point near the Bridge over Kisatchie Bayou.

The closure is necessary because of flooding and extensive damages to the road that resulted from the heavy rain event in this area last week.

No timeframe has been established for the re-opening of this road, as flooding has prevented Parish authorities from making a complete assessment of the damages that occurred. Once an assessment can be made and a schedule determined for the necessary repairs, the public will be notified.

In the meantime, citizens may contact
Mr. Nick Verret, Director of Public Works, at (318) 357-2200 for more information.

SHADY GROVE SOUTH ROAD POSTED

Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin announces that a bridge on the Shady Grove South Road near Bellwood is being posted today for a 5-ton load limit.

The affected structure is the third Middle Creek relief bridge located on the Shady Grove South Road, approximately 1.5 miles east of LA-117.

The load restriction is the result of numerous deficiencies that were found during the most recent inspection of the bridge by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

A repair plan has been developed, and upon completion of the necessary repairs, the load posting will be raised to "10-15," that is, 10 tons for single-axle vehicles and 15 tons for multi-axle vehicles.

Parish crews are currently assembling materials for the needed repairs, and it is anticipated that the repair work will be completed within the next three to four weeks.

Questions relative to the bridge may be directed to Mr. Nick Verret, Director of Public Works, at (318) 357-2200.

REDUCED LOAD POSTING FOR CLARK ROAD BRIDGE NEAR CLARENCE

Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin announces that the load posting for the Clark Road Bridge over Bayou Bourbeaux near Clarence has been
reduced to 5 tons for all vehicle axle configurations.

The reduced load posting is due to the discovery of a defective timber pile during the most recent inspection by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, who has responsibility for conducting official inspections of all bridges that are eligible for funding under the Federal Bridge Replacement Program.

The previous allowable loading for this bridge was 10 tons for two-axle vehicles and 15 tons for three-axle vehicles.

This bridge was recently added to the Federal Bridge Replacement Program, but it may be two years or more before it is actually replaced. Therefore, Parish officials are exploring possible options for making temporary repairs to this bridge to restore the previous load posting until the bridge can be replaced.

In the meantime, vehicles weighing more than 5 tons must utilize State routes LA-480 and US-71 as a detour around this bridge site.

Questions relative to the bridge may be directed to Mr. Nick Verret, Director of Public Works, at (318) 357-2200.
